Diversity & Inclusion in Latin America

Diversity & Inclusion in Latin America

Bringing together cultures, classes, genders and generations to advance organizations in Latin America.

Latin American Workforce Challenges

Working within the Latin American marketplace highlights the need to understand class and sub-group dynamics. Often comprised of a mix of nationals, expats, and foreigners, companies and teams must navigate inherent biases and prejudices around native language, country of origin, educational background, and ethnicity.

FDP Global brings awareness to identifying company insider culture. For instance, are workers expected to adopt a European style of leadership or can they explore a style of leadership aligned to their culture?

We also explore the spectrum of relational and transactional work cultures. Connecting relationally sharing parts of yourself is a vital component of doing business in Latin America. However, more transactional cultures can misconstrue time dedicated to building relationships as laziness or misuse of resources. While team members from more relational cultures can feel as if trust is never thoroughly established when working with more transactional cultures.

FDP Global helps identify differences such as these to find ways in which to better relate within teams and companies.

It’s never easy to give up the better part of a work week, but the Learning Lab is well worth it. More than any other training or discussions I have previously participated in, I left this event with a deeper personal understanding of diversity and inclusion issues on both an intellectual and emotional level. More importantly, I left with an improved understanding of how I can be a better leader in a diverse environment. I recommend this for all senior leaders. If you choose to attend, bring an open mind and a willingness to fully participate.
